Each week, you will complete a reading reflection journal. To complete this journal, you will need to review ALL of the daily jots you have collected through the week. Read your jots and think about how your thinking about your book has changed since you wrote them.

‍-> What did you used to think?

‍-> What has changed about your thinking?

‍-> What new information have you learned?

‍-> How did that new information influence or alter your thinking?

Use this idea to guide your reflection writing:

‍- I used to think blah blah blah because blah blah blah,

‍ - But now I think yada yada yada because yada yada yada.

Be sure you include SPECIFIC DETAILS from the text and from your schema to support your new ideas. Include PAGE NUMBERS and be VERY DESCRIPTIVE when explaining the text information that supports your thoughts.

12/12 phantom toolbooth
before I started reading the phantom toolbooth, I thought of it as a whole different story. at first I thought it was about a kid with a big imagination who made up a whole imaginary world with imaginary friends. now I realize its something totally different. its about a kid who is very dull and blue and is very bored and goes into a magical world inside a toolbooth. when I had just started the story, I thought that Milo would change when he went to all those places like digitopolis and met all those things like tock and the Humbug. But now I see that milo doesn't really learn his lesson to pay attention to the world more until the end. I think Milo really learned his lesson because at the end he was talking about the adventures he had with Tock and the Humbug and was really sad to leave. he also said he might not be able to come back because of all the fun things in the world that he can do.
12/20 magyk
Before I thought that Jenna would live a happy life and no one would try to harm her. but now that i've gotten further, i realize that her life isn't all thta easy. people might try to assasin her, and everyone wants to see her because she's the princess, but then she doesn't really have any time to do anything she wants to do. for example in the book, it said "before jenna got to even kiss anybody goodbye, marcia pulled her away." i feel a little bit bad for her because she always has to worry about some people who want to kill her like her brother who suffocated in bandages, even though she never knew him because she was adopted. if i were her, i would feel a little bit disturbed that i was found in the snow the night my brother died.
